Canada's Island In The Pacific

Salt Spring Island is known as the Hawaii of Canada. It has the most temparate climate in the country. We even have a few hardy Palm trees and Bananas.

Mellow is the best term to describe the island. No extreme temperatures, not too large and not too small. No predatory animals larger than a Racoon (unless you count Orcas and Seals), 9 mosquitoes (last count), no poisonous snakes or spiders.

With a population of around 10,000 you can get to know your neighbours or not. You can live in the middle of a 500 acre wilderness — or in a luxury townhouse by the ocean.

Centered between Vancouver, Victoria and Seattle, we are accessable by three ferry terminals, but not too close for comfort. Surrounded by calm ocean with some of the best boating in the world, and golf too.
